The patient should even eat foods rich in proteins, which are sufficiently present in foods made from animal sources. High-fiber food such as fruits and vegetables should be substituted instead of everyday junk food. One should eat little, but at regular intervals. Avoid the consumption of caffeine as it would produce the same symptoms as in hypoglycemia, and would also increase the amount of adrenaline in the body. Don't drink alcoholic beverages, peculiarly with an empty stomach, as it is high in calories and would cause the sugar level is blood to lower. A regular intake of meat and cheese should be obviated. Moreover, excessive consumption of foods which are rich in fats also should be kept away from, as they would cause a person to increase weight, and in turn disturb the mechanism in the body that regulates glucose. A hypoglycemia diet should always include the consumption of periodic snacks, as they would surely be profitable to the patient.
